Hey peeps. i found another cip event which we all can do. i think its gonna be really fun! U all got receive email from brian? regarding a cip dat we can do on a new year's day celebration. please submit ur names to me asap! leave a tag or sms me.here is the email again...
2008 is right around the corner and what better way to welcome the new year than to do have
loads of fun AND do your part for the community at the same time? The Youth Club @ Boon
Lay is organizing a New Year's Eve countdown party for the Boon Lay neighbourhood. This will be a large event with an expected turnout of 30 000.
For the 5th year, the Club aims to recapture that same magic, by organizing a year-end countdown again. However, we have decided to do away with the usual one-stage performance and come up with the refreshing concept of a street-party.
So, why miss out on the excitement? Be part of this and make a difference!
We need many volunteers to make this event a roaring success, and we hope that you will be
able to sign up. It is highly encouraged that you and your CCA group can come down together as a CIP activity and have fun together at the same time!
The details of Countdown 2008 @ Boon Lay are as follows:
Date/Time: 31 Dec 2007 (Monday), 5pm – 1 Jan 2008 (Tuesday), 2am
Venue: Blk 215 Boon Lay Place (and communal areas in the vicinity)
A.Transport items for goodie bags, lucky draw, non-perishable refreshments (shifts of 5)
B.Pack goodie bags
C.Distribute flyers / put up posters, banners, cardboard flames, footprints
D.Distribute goodie bags
E.Move barricades
F.Ushers for main crowd – give directions, give out party masks, sweets
G.Mascots to publicize and give flyers at Chinese Gardens, Lakeside and Boon Lay MRT (5 each)
H.Manning of 3 helium balloon tanks and giving out (5 each)
I.Backstage security
J.Holding Area security
K.Crowd control around stage – guide artistes / VIP to stage
L.Misc. (Back-up)
You may sign up as a volunteer by emailing your name, contact number, preferred role(s), school & class (for CIP) to boonlayyouthclub@gmail.com by 30th November 2007. If you are volunteering for the actual event, we’ll be sending the volunteers to common designated locations. (For example, those living around bishan area will be dropped off at bishan mrt.) Do provide your address and preferred drop-off location if you require this servce. You may select any number of roles from list A-C (schedules will not overlap) and/or one role from list D-K.
Details (e.g. reporting time) of the various duties will be issued to volunteers by 4th Dec (Tuesday). CIP hours will be allocated accordingly. So sign up as soon as possible! Thanks in advance for participating! If you have any queries, feel free to email or contact us at 91128306,

CIP Programme for 0737 - 12:45 AM
hey guys. as cip rep for our classim supposed to organise cip events for you all. well it is open to suggestions.however, i have a list of activities for you all to choose from.Suggested CIP programmes for 0737
1. Sandcastle Building
Become facilitators or helpers in a sandcastle building event for the less fortunate
East Coast Park, Castle beach
5-6hrs

2. Fundraising For School Pocket Money Fund
Sell food and drinks at school canteen (e.g., fried food, brownie, ice cream, etc, open to suggestion)
Games (people pay to play games e.g. throwing water bomb. Open to suggestions.)
Money collected donated to school pocket money fund.
3-4 hrs
3. Yong-En Care Centre visit
Visit old folks houses
Do gardening, spring cleaning etc. Depends on what centre wants us to do.

Class outing on this coming Sunday (18 Nov) is CANCELLED.Reason is because many people cannot make it on that day.
The outing will instead be held on a date which everyone of us will be free. It will be after OSLE. So keep a lookout on this blog. (:
